Perth Cultural Centre

Perth Cultural Centre is just an 850 meter walk from the Holiday Inn Perth City Centre. You can also use the free bus service if walking is not your thing. The cultural centre has a lot to offer for all types of traveller. You can find the art gallery of Western Australia, which is filled with stimulating exhibitions covering art from around the world and the Indigenous people.

Other notable points of interest are the State Library, where are you can take in a movie screening, tour or exhibition. The Western Australian Museum is home to the state’s cultural and scientific collection. Kids will love the Wetlands. Northbridge Piazza

From September to May the Northbridge Piazza becomes an outdoor cinema screening free movies on the massive outdoor LED screen. Yagan Square

Located smack bang in the middle of Perth Central business district, yagan Square is as unique as it is entertaining .This modern complex is the perfect place to spend the day sampling delicious cuisines, exploring artwork and letting the kids run wild.

Discover the horseshoe bridge, one of Perth’s heritage icons. Aboriginal experiences showcase Bush tucker, wildflowers and public art pieces that reflect the cultures and traditions of times gone by. The digital canopies give a modern twist to an area with a rich history. The canopies have been styled in the shape of Lake Goologoolup, which once used to be where Yagan Square is built. The best time to view the digital canopies is in the evening when the light display truly comes to life.

The play park will keep kids entertained for hours on end while adults can kick back and relax with a cup of coffee and soak up the vibrant atmosphere. Make sure you take a change of clothes for the little ones so that they can enjoy the water feature that operates every day from 10 a.m. to 6 pm. Perth has a collection of some fantastic free walking tours. For those with an interest in the history of Perth, the Convicts and Colonial walking tour guides you through the Swan River colony, which was established in 1829. Other walking tours include:

Depending on which tour you decide to take, it can last anywhere from between 1 to 2 hours. Not only does it offer some insights into some of the most historically important moments of Perth. But it also guides you through some of the cities hidden gems.

Each of the trails intersects with the free bus service in the free travel zone that services Central Perth, West Perth, East Perth and Northbridge. Maps are available to download to your Smartphone for added ease. Once you have finished your walking tour, you will never look at Perth in quite the same way again. Other Free Places of Interest in Perth

Free Bike Rides through Fremantle. If you fancy discovering the Heritage buildings of the port town while exploring the local markets and conflict history, you can collect a free bike at the E Shed markets in the area.

Relax in the Supreme Court Gardens. Located in the centre of the central business district, the gardens provide tranquility from the busy hustle and bustle of the city and are the perfect place to while away an hour or two.

Visit some roo’s. Heirisson Island is situated between Victoria Park and East Perth and is a great place to watch kangaroos going about their day.

See the Black Swans. Lake Monger is located in Wembley and is the best place to see the famous black swans of Western Australia. The swans are quite tame and love nothing more than being fed. However, you may want your running shoes as they are known to chase people.

These are just a handful of free things to see and do while visiting Perth. Nearly every single one of these attractions and places of interest can be reached for free by the free bus service in the Free Transit Zone.

While the beach is the furthest away from the Holiday Inn Perth City Centre, it is easy to reach by public transport and is definitely well worth a visit. One thing is for sure, and that is that you will never be bored in Perth.

The Great British Hate Off

This show is exactly as you’d imagine: The Great British Bake Off meets angry rants. The only difference is that you get to choose the recipe for disaster. This improvised show relies on audience participation to choose the topics: “hate on Trump? Millennials? Or the mating rituals of gerbils? It’s up to you!”
