From the producers of Fringe World, the Rooftop Movies is the place to be this summer. Expect gorgeous sunset views from the top of a Northbridge car park, decked out in cute beanbags and of course a film screen. Purchase your wine from the bar, and even your dinner and snacks, then kick back to enjoy. Hot tip: get there when doors open as all the good beanbags go quick!

Twilight Hawkers Market

The best place to enjoy food from all around the world is the Twilight Hawkers Market which pops up on Friday nights in the centre of the city. Head to Forrest Chase to enjoy a selection of delicious eats, drinks and desserts.

Expect circus, cabaret, comedy, musicals, mermaids and much more from the 2019 Fringe Festival. It’s everyone’s favourite summertime activity – the perfect way to spend long summer nights in Perth City. Enjoy a meal in the city before heading to The Pleasure Garden or the Urban Orchard – outdoor pop up bars in the heart of the Fringe events.

Perth’s favourite basketball team the Wildcats are playing their last games before finals time. Support them at RAC Arena in February as they strive to win the championship. Currently at Number 2 on the ladder for Australia, the Wildcats have a solid chance at bringing the NBL trophy back to Perth in 2019.

Perth Festival has been one of Australia’s premier curated multi-arts festivals since 1953. They proudly claim that they’ve been “disrupting and celebrating Pert hand Western Australia for 65 years”. Perth Festival has a range of free and paid events, but are most well-known for transforming Kings Park into a story telling, nocturnal wonderland.

Chinese New Year Fair

The Chinese New Year Fair returns to Northbridge for another year of celebration. From lion and dragon dancing, to stalls, rides, a parade and more, the multicultural celebration can be enjoyed in China Town, Lake St and James St.

Arctic Monkeys Live

This February, the Arctic Monkeys are heading to RAC Arena to promote their new album Tranquillity Base Hotel & Casino. Their new album throws the guitar riffs out the window, opting for piano-driven tunes and obscurity. Catch them at their first AUS show along with Mini Mansions (collaborators from Queens of the Stone Age and The Last Shadow Puppets). RAC Arena is only a short walk from Holiday Inn Perth, enjoy the music and treat yourself to a staycation.

Every Wednesday night during summer catch a free film on the lush grasses of Northbridge Piazza. Pull up a beanbag, enjoy some popcorn and unpack your picnic while you enjoy your free date night film. During Fringe season you can expect quirky films such as Swiss Army Man and Napoleon Dynamite.
